Roland started his career in financial media in 2000 and has experience in the hedge fund, institutional investment and pensions and retirement sectors.

Tom Selby

Tom Selby, Director of Public Policy - AJ Bell

Tom leads AJ Bell’s public policy work, including most recently campaigning for simplification of ISAs and stability in the pensions tax system. He has regular columns answering reader questions on retirement issues in The Times and The i, and his views are regularly sought by national and broadcast media. He was previously a journalist at a financial services publication for advisers and has a degree in Economics from Newcastle University.

Andrew  Robbens

Andrew Robbens, executive director, is an investment specialist within the J.P. Morgan Asset Management International Equity Group, based in London. An employee since 2016, Andrew was previously an investment specialist in the Real Estate Division at Schroders. Andrew obtained a MA in Chemistry from the University of Oxford.

Matt Ridley

Matt has 22 years of investment management experience, including 16 years focused on UK wind projects. Prior to joining Schroders Greencoat, Matt was Co-Head of Investment Management at Temporis Capital, where he played a key role raising capital and investing in a broad range of UK renewable energy projects. Matt holds a BSc (Hons.) in Mathematics from the University of Exeter.

James Henderson

James Henderson, Joint Portfolio Manager - Law Debenture

James is an employee of Janus Henderson Investors. He first became involved in the management of Law Debenture’s portfolio in 1994 and has been an investment trust portfolio manager since 1990, managing Lowland Investment Company plc since then. He is very much a value driven fund manager and seeks out opportunities among large, medium and small companies where he believes that stocks are trading more cheaply than they should, based on management’s performance and the prospects for the company.

Lisa Webster

Lisa is an Economics graduate who has been in the financial services industry since 2003. Prior to joining AJ Bell in 2014 she spent nine years working in senior technical and consultancy roles at a major SIPP and SSAS provider. Lisa is part of our Technical Team, responsible for providing regulatory and technical analysis to the business and outside world. She is also a regular speaker at adviser events.

Ryan Hughes

Ryan has over 25 years’ experience across a variety of roles covering investment research and fund management, working in a range of companies spanning financial advice through to global asset management. Ryan joined AJ Bell in 2016 and in 2024, was made Managing Director of AJ Bell Investments. Ryan is a member of the CFA UK Society, and has been recognised as one of the leading fund researchers in the UK.

 Ed Craven

Ed Craven, Fixed Income Fund Manager - Invesco Bond Income Plus

Edward is a fund manager for the Invesco Fixed Income Europe Henley-based team. He began his career with KPMG in 2003. In 2008 he moved to The Royal Bank of Scotland, where he worked in structured finance. He joined the team at Invesco in 2011 as a credit analyst and became a fund manager in 2020, managing multi-asset and high yield funds.

Hamish Mair

Hamish Mair, Managing Director and Head of Private Equity - CT Private Equity Trust

Hamish has 36 years of investment experience, over three decades of which is in private equity. He has been Head of the Private Equity team since inception, when it was part of Martin Currie Investment Management, and throughout its ownership by F&C, BMO and now Columbia Threadneedle Investments. Hamish oversees all the fund vehicles that the Private Equity team manages and, specifically, is lead manager of the London Stock Exchange listed CT Private Equity Trust PLC. Hamish was a Director of Martin Currie Investment Management between 1996 and 2005, where his responsibilities included small companies and Far Eastern equities. Hamish is a graduate of Aberdeen University and Edinburgh University and is an Investment Committee member.
