Artisanal Spirits Company celebrates 10 years of passion, heritage and culture
The Artisanal Spirits Company (AIM: ART), the creator of outstanding, limited-edition whiskies and experiences around the world, and owner of The Scotch Malt Whisky Society ("SMWS" or "the Society"), Single Cask Nation ("SCN") & J.G. Thomson ("JGT"), will celebrate its 10th anniversary with a limited-edition release of a special bottle available to Spirited* shareholders.
On 27 March 2015, the Artisanal Spirits Company acquired the Scotch Malt Whisky Society, kicking off a journey of delight and discovery. Over the last 10 years, membership of the Society has more than doubled to over 42,000 and revenue is almost five times what it was in 2015. ASC now owns almost 10 times as much whisky as it had, with 18,000 casks ready to fill over 5 million bottles of whisky for the future. The Group has grown too, with the launch of J.G. Thomson and the acquisition of Single Cask Nation in the USA.
In the 10 years since establishing the Group from a small office in Leith, ASC has evolved into a company with a presence around the world in over 30 countries. New opportunities along the way have most recently included the launch and release of The Creators Collection, a new series from the Society that showcases the liquid art of whisky making and the visual art of illustration, an acceleration of ASC's US operations, the creation of a state-of-the-art production facility at Masterton Bond and with it the ability to offer full bottling services for third party customers.
To commemorate the occasion, ASC has released 260 bottles of a limited-edition 10-year-old bourbon-cask single malt Scotch whisky, for Spirited* shareholders to purchase exclusively. Evoking flavours of sweet woods, apple, vanilla and plums poached in red wine, as well as oiled hardwood floors in an old banquet hall, chai, nettles and spiced peaches, it is certain to delight the senses and make a fitting tribute to the 10-year milestone.
*Spirited shareholders are SMWS members who hold at least 1,000 ASC shares
Andrew Dane, Chief Executive of Artisanal Spirits, commented:
"As we've evolved over the last decade, SMWS is still the beating heart of what we do, but our whisky family has evolved to include the launch of JGT and the acquisition of SCN. We continue to innovate, delight and captivate a growing global community of whisky adventurers with our uniquely-curated, limited-edition whiskies and member rooms.
"This one-off, special 10th anniversary bottling was conceived to celebrate those who have supported us on our journey so far, and to toast past and future success.
"Beyond our one-of-a-kind whisky and experiences, we have an outstanding team who I'd like to thank for their dedication over the last 10 years. They bring specialist knowledge, energy, and enthusiasm to everything that we do, ensuring that passion, heritage and culture remain at our core.
"The achievements of the last 10 years, together with the great people in the business and the opportunity ahead underpin our confidence that we have a very exciting future ahead as we enter our second decade."
