Directorate Changes
The Board of Smithson Investment Trust plc (the "Company") announces the appointment of Mike Balfour as a non-executive director and Chair of the Company. Mr Balfour succeeds Diana Dyer Bartlett as Chair of the Company, with Mrs Dyer Bartlett replacing Lord St John of Bletso as Audit Committee Chair. Lord St John of Bletso is retiring from the Board in accordance with the Board succession plan. All changes are with immediate effect.
Mr Balfour is a non-executive director and Chair of Fidelity China Special Situations plc and a non-executive director and Chair of abrdn Property Income Trust plc which is being wound up. He was formerly a non-executive director and Chair of the Audit Committee of Schroder BSC Social Impact Trust plc. and non-executive director of Perpetual Income Growth Investment Trust plc.
Mr Balfour holds no shares in the Company. There is no information to be disclosed in respect of paragraphs 6.4.8(2) to 6.4.8(6) of the FCA's Listing Rules.
