Change of Directorate

 

London and Lagos, 9 January 2025: Airtel Africa plc ("Airtel Africa", or the "Company"), a leading provider of telecommunications and mobile money services, with a presence in 14 countries across Africa, announces that Jaideep Paul, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) has informed the Board of his decision to retire from his position as Executive Director and CFO with effect from the end of the 2025 July AGM. Jaideep will be leaving the Company to pursue a new position within the wider Bharti Group.

Jaideep will ensure a smooth transition to Kamal Dua, currently Deputy CFO, who will become an Executive Director and assume the role of CFO following his appointment at the 2025 AGM.

 

The Board wishes to express its gratitude to Jaideep for his dedication and significant contribution to the Company during his tenure as CFO and wishes him every success in his future endeavours.

 

Sunil Bharti Mittal, Board Chair, said: "In his time at Airtel, both at Airtel Africa and before that at Airtel Nigeria and Bharti Airtel Group, Jaideep has been instrumental in driving strategic change and delivering results via skilled execution, and has brought discipline and focus to the finance function. I'm pleased that we have identified a strong successor and look forward to working with Kamal as the business develops."

There are no matters requiring disclosure under UKLR 6.4.6 R to UKLR 6.4.8 R.
