PPHC: leading the Q2 Lobbying Disclosure Act rankings
Public Policy Holding Company, Inc., the government relations and public affairs group of companies providing a comprehensive range advisory services, has maintained its position as the market leader in US federal lobbying following publication of the Q2 2023 Lobbying Disclosure Act ("LDA") revenue rankings, which its agencies led.
Three PPHC agencies, Crossroad Strategies, Forbes Tate and Alpine Group, combined to report a total of $17.1m in federal lobbing revenue in Q2 2023. This extends PPHC's run as the top federal lobbying Group, with its agencies landing the number one spot for the whole of 2022 reporting $66.4m in disclosed revenue. It also follows the Q1 2023 rankings, which PPHC also led with $16.7m of disclosed revenue.
Individually, all three contributing PPHC agencies maintained their positions inside the top 20, with Crossroad Strategies a top 10 firm and notable standout performer having climbed three positions from the 2022 rankings. It disclosed $6.3m in federal lobbying revenue in Q2 2023, an increase on the $5.9m reported in Q2 2022. Forbes Tate maintained its position at number 11 with $6.1m while Alpine Group reported $4.7m and continued to grow its share of disclosed revenue to be 17th on the list.
LDA revenue is not reflective of each of the three operating companies' revenue performance for Q2 and therefore does not represent their total contribution to overall Q2 Group revenue. The performance does however show the inherent quality of PPHC's operating companies, which continually deliver top performances and consistently win industry awards, and employees, who gain significant recognition for their achievements.
The LDA applies to any entity or individual that lobbies at the federal level above certain thresholds and imposes registration and reporting obligations to ensure transparency. Disclosures under the act are publicly available and the rankings are released quarterly.
The Q2 LDA rankings follow a recent report from Bloomberg Government that emphasised the growth in total lobbying spend in Washington to a new high of $4b in 2022, an increase on $3.7b in 2021. The Bloomberg report also found PPHC to be at the top of the table in terms of LDA rankings for 2022.
Stewart Hall, CEO of PPHC, commented:
"The quality of our agencies and our people is evident through our extended run at the top of the lobbying disclosure rankings. To continue to have three top 20 firms operating in Washington is a case in point and validates what we are achieving as a Group of companies. PPHC is therefore well positioned to continue to capitalise on the broad growth being achieved within the overall sector. Clients benefit from our scale, our depth of services, and our geographical breadth and we will continue to support them across the spectrum of disciplines and jurisdictions."
