Light Science Technologies Holdings PLC on Monday announced a distribution framework agreement.

The Derbyshire, England-based supplier of lighting technology for the agricultural sector said under the deal with Gavita International BV, it will distribute lightning products developed by Gavita’s subsidiary Agrolux Nederland BV, a global supplier of horticulture lightning solutions.

Light Science said the partnership’s combined product offering will result in additional reach across the UK and in Europe including Ireland, with current quoted pipeline opportunities totalling £4.6 million and £5.7 million respectively.

Gavita International Managing Director Manuel Oomen said: ‘Gavita International is very pleased to announce this co-operation. LST’s knowledge of the market and existing controlled environment agriculture technology products and services together with Agrolux’s greenhouse lighting systems means we can offer customers in the UK & Eire the best lighting solutions.’

Argolux is part of Gavita International, whose ultimate parent company is Scotts Miracle-Gro Co, an Ohio-based lawn and garden products company with a market capitalisation of around $3.9 billion.

In September, Light Science said it received a follow-on sports entertainment order within the contract electronics manufacturing division, worth £134,250.

Light Science shares were 6.3% higher at 2.71 pence each on Monday morning in London.
