Shell PLC on Thursday announced the departure of a director focused on renewables.
The London-based oil major said its Downstream, Renewables & Energy Solutions Director Huibert Vigeveno will step down ‘to pursue other opportunities’ with effect from March 31.
Shell Chief Executive Officer Wael Sawan said: ‘I am grateful to Huibert for his outstanding contributions to Shell, driving our customer value proposition across a range of businesses and geographies, successfully leading the BG integration, and most importantly, for leading the transformation in Downstream, Renewables & Energy Solutions, through a disciplined focus on performance, portfolio and people. Today’s performance is testament to his leadership, and he leaves Downstream, Renewables & Energy Solutions strongly positioned for the future. I wish him well in his future endeavours.’
Vigeveno will be succeeded by Machteld De Haan from April 1. De Haan has been Shell’s Chemicals & Products executive vice president since 2023.
Shell shares fell 0.5% to 2,683.00 pence each on Thursday morning in London.
