ME Group International PLC on Monday said it has won a five-year extension to its contract with WM Morrisons Supermarkets Ltd to place its vending machines in Morrisons stores.
The Epsom, England-based vending machine company operates laundry and photo ID machines at various locations of the Bradford, England-based supermarket chain.
Monday’s contract renewal will see ME Group install 200 more of its Revolution laundry units at Morrisons stores, a big increase from 37 machines before the new deal.
ME Group said 67 new machines have been installed, in line with expectations, with the remainder to come in the next three years. Currently, ME Group runs around 1,000 laundry machines across the UK.
Renewing the Morrisons deal will help expand the laundry business, ME Group said. Partnership between the two firms dates back about 30 years.
Morrisons said the order for additional laundry units was based on customer feedback.
ME Group’s Managing Director Vladimir Crasneanscki added: ‘This new contract builds on our existing relationship where we have a number of other services in place across Morrisons high footfall locations, including photobooths and children’s rides which provide fantastic synergies for both parties.’
ME Group shares were up 0.8% at 203.01 pence each on Monday morning in London.
