Ireland’s trade surplus narrowed in November as exports fell while imports grew, data published by the Central Statistics Office showed on Wednesday.
The country’s trade surplus shrank by 14% to €8.64 billion in November from €10.05 billion in October.
Exports fell 4.4% to €19.83 billion in November from €20.74 billion in October, while imports rose 4.6% to €11.19 billion in November from €10.69 billion in October.
Notably, exports to other EU countries declined 23% to €7.03 billion in November from €9.15 billion in October. Imports from the EU rose 1.7% to €4.30 billion in November from €4.23 billion in October.
Irish exports to the US grew 18% to €8.09 billion In November from €6.85 billion in October, while imports from the world’s largest economy climbed 5.7% to €1.63 billion in November from €1.54 billion in October.
