Orchard Pig cider producer C&C Group PLC on Thursday named the former head of Irn-Bru maker AG Barr PLC as its new chief executive, starting next month.

Roger White joins C&C, a Dublin-based beer, cider, wine, spirits and soft drinks maker and distributor across the UK and Ireland, as CEO from January 20.

Ralph Findlay will return to his position of non-executive chair ‘following a short period of transition’ after White joins.

Back in June, Patrick McMahon agreed to step down as chief executive, to take responsibility for accounting errors made during his tenure as chief financial officer.

The company, behind brands including Bulmers and Addlestones, noted White was CEO of Cumbernauld, Scotland-based soft drinks maker AG Barr from 2002 until this past May.

C&C’s brands include Glasgow-brewed Tennent’s lager, as well as ciders Magners and Bulmers.

C&C shares were up 0.8% at 149.80 pence each on Thursday morning in London.
