East Star Resources PLC - Kazakhstan-focused copper exploration and resource development company - Says soil sampling at its Snowy licence, on the paleozoic Balkash-Ili volcanic arc in Kazakhstan, has identified a very large gold in soil anomaly of 5 kilometres by 1km. It also identified a second large 2km by 2km anomaly with porphyry potential. Based on this data, the group believes its Snowy licence warrants further exploration.

Technical Director Chris van Wijk says: ‘We’re very happy with the soil sampling results on our Snowy licence. Our initial work using Aster multispectral imagery identified several areas of potential hydrothermal alteration and guided the initial acquisition of this licence. The soil geochemistry completed has identified several areas with highly enriched pathfinder elements that correspond with anomalous areas highlighted by the multi-spectral imaging. The geochemical data is consistent with that seen proximal to other mineralised systems and worthy of further exploration.’
