Oxford Nanopore Technologies PLC announced on Monday changes to its senior leadership team, following the departure of its chief officer of technology.

The Oxford-based DNA and RNA sequencing specialist has appointed Rosemary Dokos as chief product & marketing officer and Lakmal Jayasinghe as chief scientific officer, effective immediately.

The appointees will succeed Clive Brown, chief officer of technology, innovation and products, who the company says has stepped down to pursue new projects.

Rosemary has more than 18 years of experience in innovation and has overseen the development of Oxford Nanopore’s platform technologies. Lakmal has been responsible for all biological research and development projects at Oxford Nanopore.

Chief Executive Officer Gordon Sanghera said: ‘Rosemary and Lakmal bring extensive skills in innovation and product development. Their knowledge, perspective and vision will advance our innovation leadership and fuel the continuation of our growth journey.’

Outgoing Chief Officer of Technology Clive Brown said: ‘Given our progress, I am now pursuing my next professional challenge. I remain a dedicated shareholder and look forward to seeing the company continue to go from strength to strength.’

Oxford Nanopore shares were up 5.2% at 141.00 pence in London on Monday morning.
