SSE PLC on Wednesday said that Cloiche wind farm is set to receive a low-carbon power contract, after success in the sixth Contracts for Difference allocation round.
According to the Perth, Scotland-based energy company, the contract is for a total of 130.5 megawatts.
Cloiche, which is located on the Glendoe and Garrogie Estates in Scotland, will receive a guaranteed strike price of £50.90 per megawatt hour.
The low-carbon electricity will be generated for 15-years, from the delivery year of 2027 to 2028.
Cloiche, which was granted consent in November last year, is in late-stage development and will be targeting a final investment decision in 2025.
‘We are delighted Cloiche has been successful in AR6. Securing a route to market will enable us to progress the project which is critical to delivering new homegrown green energy for the UK,’ said Managing Director Stephen Wheeler.

Shares in SSE were trading 0.5% lower at 1,898.50 pence each in London on Wednesday afternoon.
