SulNOx Group PLC on Tuesday announced a collaboration with Peninsula Yacht Services to install a semi-automatic pumping system in Gibraltar.

SulNOx is a London-based greentech innovation company helping industry reduce emissions, lower fuel costs and meet sustainability targets. Peninsula Yacht Services is a Monaco-based provider of marine energy services and solutions.

The semi-automatic pumping system being installed by Peninsula will facilitate the appropriate dosing of SulNOxEco diesel fuel conditioner on the pier of the company’s Gibraltar yacht terminal.

The system will pre-mix marine fuels with the SulNOxEco fuel conditioner and then dispense the fuel from the Peninsula storage facility into super yachts as they bunker.

The Gibraltar Port Authority has granted permission for its installation.

Chris Warde, Peninsula’s head of yacht services, said: ‘SulNOxEco is an impressive and effective product with huge potential to help our super yacht customers cut fuel consumption and emissions. It also achieves greater engine reliability and cleanliness by improving combustion, emulsifying residual water, adding detergency and enhancing lubricity. We look forward to extending our partnership and offering some very compelling benefits to the industry.’

Chief Executive Officer Ben Richardson said: ‘For the first time, SulNOx has been pre-blended in large-scale marine bunkers, paving the way to swifter widespread adoption in the sector. We are delighted to be working with such a prestigious marine fuel partner as we expand our footprint in the marine sector.’

Shares in SulNOx were up 0.7% to 27.90 pence in London on Tuesday afternoon.
