Unilever PLC is working on the disposal of upmarket skincare brand Kate Somerville, Sky News reported on Sunday.

The FTSE 100-listed consumer goods firm acquired the brand back in 2015, and it forms part of its Prestige personal care portfolio. According to ‘City sources’, Unilever has engaged PricewaterhouseCoopers to help find a buyer.

Additionally, citing ‘insiders’, Sky reported that Unilever is planning to dispose of a second skincare brand purchase in 2015, REN.

Back in March, Unilever announced plans to separate its ice cream business - which owns Wall’s, Magnum and Ben & Jerry’s.

The move came as part of Unilever’s ‘Growth Action Plan’, which Chief Executive Officer Hein Schumacher described as ‘doing fewer things, better and with greater impact’.
