Workers at the world’s largest copper mine in Chile suspended a strike launched earlier this week and restarted negotiations with mining firm BHP Group Ltd, the union and management announced Friday.
Patrico Tapia, president of the union at the Escondida mine in northern Chile, told AFP the return to talks was ‘confirmed.’
BHP shares were 0.8% lower at 2,040.00 pence each on Friday afternoon in London. In Johannesburg, shares were down 0.8% at R 471.09 each.
