The following stocks are the leading risers and fallers among London Main Market small-caps on Friday.

SMALL-CAP - WINNERS

Evoke PLC, up 8.2% at 59.65 pence, 12-month range 49.18p-133.9p. The Gibraltar-based betting and gaming company, formerly known as 888 Holdings, gets support from director dealings. On Thursday, CEO Per Widerstrom buys 900,000 shares at 55.1p each, totalling £495,900. Non-Executive Chair Jon Mendelsohn buys 250,000 shares at 55.2p, totalling £138,000, while Non-Executive Director Limor Ganot buys 87,536 shares at 54.9p, for a total of £48,057. Gaming stocks also were benefiting from a positive read-across from this week’s news that Playtech PLC is holding talks with Flutter Entertainment PLC regarding the possible sale of its Snaitech business. On Friday, Playtech is up 3.0%, adding 22% this week so far. Entain PLC also adds 2.0%, rising 12% this week.

Costain Group PLC, up 2.5% at 91.2p, 12-month range 44.2p-92.96p. The construction and engineering company says its joint venture with MWH Treatment is chosen by Southern Water to ‘shape and deliver’ its next strategic asset upgrade programme. The initial term of the award runs for seven years, and will bring in ‘at least’ £500 million to Costain. There’s also the option for a five-year extension.

SMALL-CAP - LOSERS

Eurocell PLC, down 1.5% 142.81p, 12-month range 98.8p-169.88p. Shares in the manufacturer, recycler and distributor of window, door and roofline PVC products edge lower. The stock is down 6.1% over the past month, but is up 15% over the past six months. It will report its interim results on September 4. Back in May, the firm had warned of ‘challenging’ trading conditions in key markets and was focusing on cost management to protect its bottom line.
