Capital Gearing Trust PLC on Monday announced the appointment of Karl Sternberg to its board as a non-executive director.
Capital Gearing Trust is a Belfast-based investment trust that targets long-term growth in shareholders’ assets by investing in a range of commodities, equities and bonds.
Sternberg currently is chair of Edinburgh-based investment trust Monks Investment Trust PLC and of Apax Global Alpha Ltd, a closed-ended investment company providing access to the private equity funds of investment adviser Apax Partners LLP. Like Capital Gearing, Monks Investment and Apax Global both are FTSE 250 constituents.
Sternberg also is a non-executive director of London-based fund manager Jupiter Fund Management PLC, another FTSE 250 constituent.
Capital Gearing Chair Jean Matterson said of Sternberg: ‘He brings extensive experience and expertise in both investment management and the investment trust sector, which will complement and strengthen the skills and experience of the rest of the board.’
Capital Gearing shares were 0.1% lower at 4,751.00 pence each on Monday morning in London.
