Guardian Metal Resources PLC on Monday announced ‘exciting’ results from its drillhole PM24-002 at its flagship Pilot Mountain project in Nevada, USA.

Guardian Metal is a Nevada, US-focused strategic development and mineral exploration company.

Back in June, Guardian Metal discovered a large porphyry-style mineralisation system at Pilot Mountain. It has since employed Lawrence Carter, a specialist in porphyry copper deposits, to assess the discovery and guide subsequent drilling and exploration.

Guardian Metal said that Carter’s review suggests that the porphyry system is ‘bigger than originally thought’, with potential for large-scale mineralisation.

Looking forward, Chief Executive Officer Oliver Friesen said: ‘We are now working diligently with our technical team and Dr Carter to refine a number of drill targets into the large porphyry system now identified across Pilot Mountain, with the goal of making exciting discoveries that complement our very strategic in-ground tungsten-copper-silver-zinc resource at Desert Scheelite’.

Guardian Metal shares were up 4.2% to 32.30 pence per share in London on Monday morning.
