Hercules Site Services PLC on Thursday announced its Civil Projects division has been awarded contracts totalling £7.9 million in the first half of the year.

Hercules is a Cirencester, England-based labour supplier for the UK infrastructure and construction sectors.

Hercules reported a £5.6 million contract from Thames Water across nine sites, including a £2.7 million contract at the sewage treatment works in Crawley, West-Sussex.

Hercules shares closed up 11% to 40.50 pence per share in London on Thursday afternoon.

Additionally, it reported a £2.3 million contract from Anglian water across five sites, including a £1.1 million contract at the sewage treatment works in Towcester, Northamptonshire.

Hercules noted that the Hercules Construction Academy has been appointed as an approved training provider for Gen2 and City & Guilds Training. It has also been awarded funding by North Warwickshire Borough Council to support residents with upskilling programmes. The firm said this will help with the ‘national skills shortage’.

Looking forward, Hercules Site Services said it remains ‘well-positioned’ to benefit from the UK government’s housing and infrastructure plans by providing local people for local jobs, and upskilling and cross-skilling its workforce.
