AFC Energy PLC on Monday said it had signed a strategic supplier agreement with Zollner Elektronik AG, a Zandt, Germany-based electronics and mechatronics service provider.
According to the Cranleigh, England-based provider of hydrogen power generation technologies, the agreement with Zollner is for the scaled production of fuel cell modules for AFC’s S series platform.
Production is expected to start immediately and will take place in Zollner’s German facilities, with scope to grow internationally.
AFC Energy emphasised that Zollner’s manufacturing role would be critical to the scale up of H-power generator production, with call off orders placed alongside demand growth.
AFC Chief Executive Officer Adam Bond said: ‘Our strategy of leveraging the scale up manufacturing expertise of contract manufacturers has long been the core of our future product readiness and with such high demand for Zollner’s services, we are extremely pleased to see alignment of our two companies and the complimentary opportunities that we are able to pursue in partnership’.
AFC Energy shares were trading 4.4% higher at 16.97 pence on Monday afternoon.
