MP Evans Group PLC on Friday said it produced more palm oil in the first five months of the year, though the price received per tonne was slightly lower than a year before.

The Tunbridge Wells, England-based producer of crude palm oil, which is holding its annual general meeting on Friday, said it produced the equivalent of 147,500 tonnes of crude palm oil in the first months of 2024, up 9.7% from 134,400 a year prior.

The total crop of fresh fruit bunches processed during the same time rose 8.0% to 631,400 tonnes from 584,400 tonnes.

Meanwhile, the average price of crude palm oil during the five months edged down 0.4% to $997 per tonne from $1,001.

MP Evans shares were up 0.6% at 844.80 pence each on Friday morning in London.
