Vast Resources PLC, up 25% at 0.28 pence, 12-month range 0.21p-4.04p. The mining company, which has operations in Central Asia, Eastern Europe and Africa says that 25,388 tonnes were mined in the first quarter at Baita Plai, up from 20,728 tonnes a year prior. The mine’s copper concentrate grade was 20%, versus 23% a year previously. Baita Plai is located in the Apuseni Mountains, Transylvania. Further, notes ‘pleasing progress’ at the Aprelevka mine in Central Asia, with gold production at 933 ounces in May, up from 805 ounces in April.

Proton Motor Power Systems PLC, up 15% at 2.30 pence, 12-month range 1.75p-10.82p. The London-based designer and producer of hydrogen fuel cells and electric hybrid systems completes its follow-on order from DB Bahnbau Gruppe GmbH, a subsidiary of Deutsche Bahn AG. Accordingly, delivers a complete hydrogen fuel cell emergency power system, which has now passed the site acceptance test, customer handover, and serial and operational approval.

Faron Pharmaceuticals Ltd, down 44% at 110.00p, 12-month range 90.10p-370.00p. The Turku, Finland-based clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company announces a share offering of €30.7 million in total via a subscription for up to 30.7 million new shares or existing shares held in treasury at €1.00 per share. The purpose of the offering is to strengthen Faron’s cash position so that it has sufficient funding to reach its key milestones for this year. Faron has a market cap of £79.2 million.
