Frasers Group PLC - Shirebrook, England-based owner of House of Fraser, Sports Direct and Flannels retail chains - Confirms that Jon Thompson, the former chief executive of the UK Financial Reporting Council, has joined its board as a non-executive director. Frasers back in February had said Thompson would join later in the year.

Thompson’s appointment ‘reflects the progress we have made to date on Frasers’ transformation and elevation strategy, as well as our ambitions for the future,’ says Chief Executive Officer Michael Murray. ‘Sir Jon’s expertise in corporate governance and major project management will be invaluable as we enter the next phase of our strategy.’

Current stock price: 894.57 pence, up 1.5% early Monday in London
