SMALL-CAP - WINNERS

Galliford Try Holdings PLC, up 2.3% at 265.00 pence, 12-month range 174.20p-279.00p. The building and infrastructure construction company signs two new contracts, worth £101 million. It says its Building Southern business will complete a new £70 million facility at Campsfield. Also its Building East Midlands business has been appointed by the Defence Infrastructure Organisation to undertake the £31 million PRIDE II project at RAF Wyton. Chief Executive Bill Hocking says: ‘These appointments, in key markets for our Sustainable Growth Strategy, are testament to our strong track record in collaborating successfully with both organisations, and we look forward to working with all the stakeholders to create high-quality outcomes for all those involved.’

Ceres Power Holdings PLC, down 4.2% at 221.20p, 12-month range 126.40p-444.80p. Shares in the developer of clean energy technology fall, after a good start to 2024. In the year-to-date, the stock is up 21%. However, over the last 12 months, shares are down 21%.
