The following stocks are the leading risers and fallers among London Main Market small-caps on Thursday.
----------
SMALL-CAP - WINNERS
----------
Reach PLC, up 8.2% at 80.40 pence, 12-month range 59.10p-87.35p. The London-based newspaper, magazine and digital publisher says it is on track to deliver on its full-year expectations following its first quarter. Consensus market expectations for the full year are £97.6 million in adjusted operating profit. For the three months ended March 31, the company expects to report a 6.7% drop in revenue from a year prior. Says revenue is impacted by ‘the well publicised deprioritisation of news during 2023 by major platforms’, partially offset by strengthening yield per page. The higher priority data-driven revenue continues to perform strongly, Reach says, driven by a combination of non-advertising and advertising revenue. The publisher owns the Mirror and Express brands.
----------
SMALL-CAP - LOSERS
----------
Robert Walters PLC, down 2.2% at 387.15p, 12-month range 353.00p-480.00p. Shares in the London-based recruitment consultancy firm fall as it goes ex-dividend, meaning new buyers do not qualify for the latest payout. The stock is down some 13% in 2024, from 450.00p in the new year.
----------
Alfa Financial Software Holdings PLC, down 2.3% at 168.22p, 12-month range 140.00p-196.50p. The London-based provider of software services to the asset and automotive finance industry also goes ex-dividend. The stock is up around 20% in the year so far this year, however.
