Intelligent Ultrasound Group PLC on Friday said that the SonoLyst software developed by GE Healthcare Technologies Inc has been launched on Intelligent Ultrasound’s new portfolio of ultrasound machines.

The Cardiff, Wales-based provider of artificial intelligence ultrasound software launched GE Healthcare’s SonoLyst to the new Voulson Signature Series portfolio of ultrasound machines, the signature 20 and signature 18.

SonoLyst is powered by Intelligent Ultrasound’s ScanNav AI.

SonoLystlive captures ultrasound images in real-time, as a clinician scans a mid-trimester patient. The software enhances the ultrasound image recognition and, using guidelines from the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, it recognises the anatomy, captures the image and checks it off the list of required views.

SonoLystlive minimises the need for clinicians to manually freeze, annotate and store images, reducing keystrokes by up to 65% and reducing exam time for sonographers by up to 40% as well.

Intelligent Ultrasound Chief Executive Officer Stuart Gall said: ‘We are pleased that with this launch, SonoLyst, powered by our ScanNav AI software, is now available on three GE HealthCare ultrasound machine ranges - expert, signature and SWIFT.

‘GE Healthcare is leading the way in using AI software to improve obstetric workflows for the benefit of clinicians and patients, while saving scanning time and destressing the scanning environment for sonographers. We remain excited that our novel ’classroom-to-clinic’ approach is making clinical diagnostic ultrasound easier to learn and simpler to use.’

Intelligent Ultrasound shares were down 4.7% to 8.34 pence each in London on Friday morning.
