Kingfisher PLC on Monday said Andrew Cosslett will step down as chair in June, after seven years in the role.

Cosslett will be succeeded by Claudia Arney, who has been an independent non-executive director for Kingfisher since November 2018.

London-based Kingfisher operates do-it-yourself stories in the UK, Ireland, France and Poland under brands that include B&Q, Screwfix and Castorama.

Cosslett will step down at the company’s annual general meeting on June 20, Kingfisher said, with Arney replacing him at that time.

Arney also is a non-executive director for property developer Derwent London PLC. She currently is chair of takeaway food delivery firm Deliveroo PLC, but will step down from that role in May, Kingfisher said.

Arney is a member of the Panel on Takeovers & Mergers and is lead non-executive board member for the UK government’s Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport.

Past non-executive roles include being interim chair of the football Premier League.

Shares in Kingfisher were up 0.1% to 249.80 pence each in London early Monday.
