Compagnie de Saint-Gobain SA - Courbevoie, France-based building materials company - Participates in funding round for low-carbon cement start-up Fortera, and explains that by investing in the firm through its venture capital activity, it is ‘supporting cutting-edge technologies that curb carbon dioxide at the source’. Saint-Gobain didn’t specify how much it invested.

ECR Minerals PLC - Australia-focused gold exploration company - Raises £585,000 before expenses through the placing of 195.0 million new ordinary shares of 0.30 pence each. This price represents a discount of 30% to ECR Minerals’ closing middle market price of 0.43p each on March 13. The net proceeds will be used to advance ECR’s projects in Victoria and Queensland during 2024.

AFC Energy PLC - Surrey, England-based provider of hydrogen power generation technologies - Notes a 16% reduction in hydrogen fuel consumption from the 2024 30 kilowatt H-Power generator versus the 2023 H-Power tower. Further, Chief Executive Adam Bond says: ‘Lowering the total cost of ownership of fuel cell generators is a key prerequisite to industry-wide adoption. Last year, field data suggested that AFC Energy’s H-Power Towers were, operationally, only 14% more costly than diesel generators based on European hydrogen prices, highlighting the importance of fuel efficiency in generator performance and reducing this cost gap.’

FireAngel Safety Technology Group PLC - Coventry, England-based developer and supplier of home safety products - Says Chief Financial Officer Zoe Fox has resigned from her role, and will be replaced by Commercial Director Adrian Wilding with immediate effect. Fox is expected to remain within the business until June to ensure a smooth transition to Wilding.

Oxford BioDynamics PLC - Oxford-based biotechnology company with a portfolio of clinical tests using its EpiSwitch technology - Raises gross proceeds of £9.9 million pursuant to a placing, via an accelerated book build. Subsequently, will issue 89.2 million shares at 9 pence each. Also announces the appointment of WG Partners as joint broker with immediate effect.
