Bradda Head Lithium Ltd on Monday said preliminary assay results from drilling at San Domingo show lithium oxide presence, and improve its knowledge of the drill targets.

The North America-focused lithium development company said the results show grades of up to 0.83% lithium oxide over 6.35 metres, and 1.03% lithium oxide over 3.05 metres at the Midnight owl prospect.

The company noted it has received results from only 14 holes, totalling 993 metres in depth. It added that preliminary drilling was undertaken over 22 holes covering 1,877 metres in total, and is part of a 6,100 metres programme, which is 65% complete.

The drilling campaign is underway at its Midnight Owl, Bolt and Lone Giant prospects in San Domingo.

At its Bolt target, the firm identified 5.27 metres at 0.51 lithium oxide, and 5.87 metres at 0.5% lithium oxide.

Bradda Head added that it has found tin and tantalum coinciding with pegmatites and lithium mineralisation at Midnight Owl, while cores holes at Bolt have shown tantalum.

Chair Ian Stalker said: ‘Our knowledge of this intriguing spodumene-rich pegmatite district grows as we announce our second phase drilling results, which auger well for future development. The initial batch of drill hole geochemistry provides us with an improved understanding of pegmatite characteristics and mineralogical zoning at San Domingo, particularly at the Midnight Owl and Bolt targets.

‘The elevated [tantalum] and [tin] levels show encouragingly strong comparisons to LCT-type systems, evidence of our robust lithium pegmatite district. Importantly, both Midnight Owl and Bolt targets continue to provide opportunities to expand on the lithium mineralisation, with the goal of defining near-surface resources.’

Bradda Head shares fell 4.6% to 2.29 pence each on Monday afternoon in London.
