Smarttech247 Group PLC on Wednesday said it has received an order from an existing, unnamed automotive technology company, worth around $3 million across three years.

The Cork-based artificial intelligence-enhanced cybersecurity services provider said the three-year order includes the ‘provision and implementation of cutting-edge security intelligence technology to provide enhanced visibility and threat detection’, which it said strengthened defence ‘against the increasing threat of cyberattacks’.

‘These ever-evolving cyber threats mean that the security and protection of data has become a top priority for businesses,’ the company said.

Smarttech247 said the ‘cutting-edge technology’ from the order would serve an important part of its managed detection and response service, VisionX. Once integrated, it said the technology will offer clients ‘further security and a unified and proactive security solution’.

Chief Executive Officer Raluca Saceanu added: ‘We are delighted that Smarttech247 has been entrusted by our client to further develop our relationship in strengthening its digital infrastructure and safeguarding sensitive information.

‘With the ever-changing cybersecurity landscape, we continue to pioneer new ways to ensure the cyber safety of all existing and new clients. By using this new security technology, our customer will receive a higher level of cyber protection and will be empowered to stay one step ahead of cyber threats.’

Shares in Smarttech247 were up 2.9% to 31.89 pence each in London on Wednesday before midday.
