Roger McDowell will take a sabbatical from his role of chair of three London-listed companies, they said on Monday.
Flowtech Fluidpower PLC said McDowell will hand over the chair with immediate effect to Non-Executive Director Jamie Brooke until August 31, when McDowell will resume his role as chair. McDowell will remain as a company director during the intervening period, the Wilmslow, England-based supplier of technical fluid power products said.
McDowell’s sabbatical also applies to his role as chair at Hargreaves Services PLC, a Durham, England-based property and infrastructure development company, and at Avingtrans PLC, a Cambridgeshire-based company that supplies components to the energy, medical and industrial sectors.
Both Hargreaves Services and Avingtrans said the sabbatical is for ‘family health reasons’, while McDowell is also set to remain as a director at both firms during the intervening period.
Senior Independent Director Nigel Halkes takes over as interim chair at Hargreaves Services. Senior Independent Director Les Thomas will become interim chair at Avingtrans.
Flowtech and Hargreaves Services shares were down 1.1% on Monday morning in London. Avingtrans shares were up 1.1%.
