Firering Strategic Minerals PLC on Tuesday said it has completed a phase 2 soil sampling programme at its Atex Lithium-Tantalum project in the Ivory Coast.
The operator of Atex dual lithium-tantalum project in the Ivory Coast said the programme was undertaken alongside Ricca Resources Ltd, following a $18.6 million investment from the company in November last year to advance Atex to the definitive feasibility study stage.
The firm said 14,116 soil samples have been sent for analysis using x-ray fluorescence spectrometry and laser induced breakdown spectrometry.
The firm added that it has received results from 6,205 samples, with the remainder to be completed over the coming weeks. The results have identified new and related pegmatite anomalies in the license area, which confirm its areas of interest.
Chief Executive Yuval Cohen said: ‘It is very encouraging that several pegmatite related anomalies have been identified, which will be considered as target in the next phase of auger drilling which will commence shortly.’
Firering shares rose 0.4% to 7.78 pence each in London on Tuesday afternoon.
