Trainline PLC on Tuesday said it has reached an agreement with Rail Delivery Group Ltd on a memorandum of understanding to amend its third party retail licence.

Last year, the London-based rail and coach ticket platform had entered a ‘collaborative phase of agreement’ with RDG to lower commission rates from online ticket sales.

Trainline confirmed the terms of the deal include a 0.5% reduction in its base business-to-consumer online sales to 4.5% from 5.0%.

The company noted an offsetting removal of central retail costs would limit the impact to a net reduction of around 0.25%.

Trainline operates under a long term licence issued by the RDG on behalf of the rail industry, which is part of the industry’s Ticketing & Settlement agreement.

Shares were up 0.2% to 249.80 pence each in London on Tuesday morning.
