Trakm8 Holdings PLC on Wednesday said it was awarded a contract extension with JS Information Services Ltd, a subsidiary of J Sainsbury PLC.
The Birmingham, England-based telematics and data insight provider said the original contract award was announced on July 3 as being with ‘a major UK food retailer’, with the contract now extending to December 31, 2024.
Trakm8 said it provides slot booking and delivery scheduling/route optimisation algorithm services via its application programming interface into Sainsbury’s integrated home delivery solution.
There is an option for Sainsbury’s to extend for one further year to December 31, 2025, Trakm8 said.
‘The combined solution has improved efficiency by over 10% and is generating increased home delivery order capacity alongside operational savings and has enabled a reduction in carbon emissions from the delivery fleet,’ Trakm8 said in a statement.
‘The solution allows for greater flexibility for Sainsbury’s to innovate further in this space. This Christmas, Sainsbury’s was able to open its home delivery slots for the festive period 10 weeks before the delivery date - a first for the retailer thanks to this partnership.’
Trakm8 Executive Chair John Watkins added: ‘This contract extension highlights the great work that Sainsbury’s and Trakm8 have collaborated on to deliver an excellent home delivery solution. It is an important part of our current and future years’ fleet revenues.’
Also on Wednesday, Trakm8 said it won a new 3-year contract with Howden Driving Data Ltd. Under the agreement, Trakm8 will provide devices and data to Howden. It said the contract has no guaranteed and/or minimum value.
Shares in Trakm8 were up 5.7% to 14.80 pence each in London on Wednesday afternoon.
