Inland Homes PLC on Tuesday named Matthew Robinson as its new chair, just weeks after its previous chair left the company with just one director in control.
The Buckinghamshire, England-based brownfield site developer, housebuilder and regeneration specialist said Robinson will also be appointed as an independent non-executive director.
Robinson was formerly a non-executive chair of Goldplat PLC, a South Africa and Ghana-focused mining services company. He is currently a non-executive director of Anpario PLC. Anpario is a manufacturer of natural sustainable feed additives for animal health, nutrition and biosecurity
With the appointment of Robinson, the resignation of former chair Simon Bennett takes effect. At the start of March, Bennett announced plans to step down as chair, but said he would remain in post as a non-executive director for a maximum period of two weeks, while the company formalises appointments to the board and completes due diligence checks.
At the same time, Inland Homes two non-executive directors, Carol Duncumb and Brian Johnson, had resigned, leaving the company with just a single director.
This left Chief Financial Officer Nishith Malde as the sole director of the company, but a minimum of two directors are required.
At the time, Inland waned that this could lead to a suspension of trading in its shares.
Shares in Inland Homes were down 0.7% to 8.84 pence each in London on Tuesday afternoon. Over the past 12 months the stock is down 81%.
