Swings to pretax profit of £21.2 million in first half of 2022 from loss of £686,000 a year before. ‘These unprecedented earnings for the group can be attributed to a strong performance from Sisonke Coal Processing, the group’s South African coal processing operation which benefited from significantly higher prices of free-on-board coal from Richards Bay Coal Terminal,’ it says. There are exit fee provisions within the contract, and the unnamed logistics customer also will pay fees related to its 60-day notice period, Esken says. Outside of Southend airport, Esken said its Renewables division continues to perform well and remains on track to achieve Ebitda in excess of £22 million in the current financial year.
